I was concerned about the notice period as well. It seems a little unprofessional on work front, to leave without proper handover🙁

Your company won’t think twice before replacing you. Rules are there for such scenarios.

Do we have to live with this contingency till March 30th or there might be a relief before that?

Hi everyone,

What are the chances for a r1 waitlist historically? Is it as good as a reject ?

Thanks,
Chinmay

Just out of curiosity, will you guys be applying to other B schools?

Second Waitlist in as many years.

Here's how it went down last year.
> Got waitlisted after Round-1.

> I did not get a clear answer on when would the waitlist results come through. Depending on which adcom session/alum you asked, answers were as varied as "Along with Round-2 results" to "Along with Round-3 results" to someplace in between. Would recommend not setting unrealistic expectations, results will come when they come. If you want to have a plan-B (US Round-2 deadlines are in Jan), now is the time to start. Mailing etc asking for an update does not help.

> Realistically, I would expect it post Round-3 results. This happens sometime in March Mid (or did so last year), meaning you have <1 month to make a decision, quit you job and join. For folks with a notice period that is 2-3 months, quitting on amicable terms (without buying your way out) is extremely tough. I'd informed my manager in advance, and he was supportive about letting me leave at short notice.

> Continuing to work for a short while after joining: Strong No is what I heard last time, ISB asks you to explicitly state that you're not working Full time someplace.

> Conversion Rate: Honestly, nobody knows for sure. I was able to get in touch with a couple folks who did convert from waitlist the prior year, they did mention that the number is fairly low (<30 across the batch). I didn't eventually convert, obviously.

I got rejected last time in R2, last year results were coming on rolling basis and waitlisted from R1 got cleared with results of R2. So I think we can expect in January end to Feb start.

Where do you know this stat from? 😅

Also Manan from the PGP application group said that as per last year around 20+% was the waitlist conversion chances

But the process and timeline is going to cumbersome. We probably aren’t going to hear anything now till feb/March.

I think yes....https://www.oneyearmba.co.in/how-to-get-into-isb/

This site shows that yield rate is ~80%

Sounds about right. If you say 60-80 seats? Given 95% acceptance

Nov 18, 2022

So 20% of offered candidates don’t join

Nov 18, 2022

Not a ball park number. This might go up based on the acceptances and deferrals.

Nov 18, 2022

Fair

Nov 18, 2022

I am sure a lot of people would be pushing for deferrals as well.

And look for US options too
