Hey Future women leaders

Listen up!

Here’s something for you all from our end.
We at MBA and Beyond believe that women have the same potential (at times, even more) than men and also have higher and stronger thinking capabilities to become leaders of tomorrow.

We would like to share with you some amazing success stories of our female applicants.
One very amazing thing is of Ms. Project Manager, who got into Schulich and McGill with a 660 GMAT, and the highlight of the story is that she could get a CAD 55K scholarship. You can read her detailed story here. With a good scholarship it became quite easy for her to manage her MBA expenses.

Another interesting story of our applicant is about Ms. Project Manager, she was a Reapplicant with 8 years of work experience. Shortcoming in her profile was Low GPA, but working on other aspects of her profile and strongly exhibiting them. She was able to get into INSEAD.

We would also like to add another one of our applicant’s success story, Ms. Designer, with a GMAT score of 640, she has applied to 3 schools and got accepted into all with major scholarships. EDHEC with 55%, ESSEC with 30% and Boston College with 60,000 USD By the time she appeared for the interviews, she had so much clarity and so much confidence from the multiple mock interviews and discussions that she could easily clear them.

We hope these amazing stories would have motivated you enough to pursue your dreams and get accepted into your dream B-School. We are organizing an Women's Month Special Coffee session with successful women from the industry.

How to deal with being waitlisted?

A waitlist is essentially a list of individuals who might be accepted to a specific MBA program only if there are sufficient opportunities because they may not have enough space to accept everyone who applies. Business schools put applicants on a waitlist to make sure they enroll enough students to keep the program financially viable.

Candidates that are placed on a waitlist typically get outstanding grades and exam results, but they may not have made as much impact on the AdComs as those who were accepted right away.

The first thing that you should do is acknowledge that this is not a rejection. The admissions panel wishes to examine your application further. Use this as an opportunity and get moving! Review the gaps in your current profile and address them over the course of a day or two. If it helps, retake the GMAT; alternatively, enroll in a certification program that supports your professional objectives

The second thing to do after being waitlisted for an MBA program is to decide if you want to continue being on the waitlist. Being on the waitlist is worthwhile if you are certain that this business school and the program are necessary for reaching your professional objectives.

When being placed on a waitlist, AdComs advise that you pause and consider whether you want to continue doing so. Do you wish to work towards being removed from the waitlist or do you already know that you have been accepted by another business school? Do you think you could submit an application in the upcoming admissions cycle with a substantially stronger profile?
Before making a choice, you should think about the following issues.

Another parameter that you should consider is the yield rate.
The yield rate is the percentage of students who choose to enroll in a particular program after being offered admission.
A typical yield rate of Harvard Business School is around 90% and that of Kellogg is between 50% and 60%.It means that the probability of getting off the waitlist for Harvard Business School is lower as compared to Kellogg School of Management
After you’ve decided to be on the waitlist, another thing you should do is reach out to the admissions committee and express your continued interest in the program. This is your opportunity to reiterate why you believe you would be a good fit for the school and what unique contributions you would bring to the MBA class.

Don't give up if you find yourself on a waitlist for a business school. To improve your chances of being taken off the waitlist and into the program of your choice, adhere to the business school's recommendations and advice.

We at MBA and Beyond have assisted many candidates in getting into their ideal MBA program, and we would like to assist you as well. Set up a free profile evaluation call with one of our profile experts right now, and allow us to guide you as you move closer to your ideal business school, feel free to schedule a call with us at your convenience.

Cheers

Hey,

My GMAT score is 710 (Q49,V37) but my AWA score is a 4. Does the AWA score hurt my chances in getting admission in international universities?

I'm mainly considering universities in Australia and Canada including, but not limited to, UniMelb, McGill, York, Rotman etc.

Hey DorkyBurger,

To answer your question,
710+ is a decent score when combined with an overall robust profile. The top schools mostly accept the analytical writing assessment score of 4. The schools you have mentioned have an average GMAT score ranging from 650-720 in their class. However, as already mentioned, for top business schools, you will need a strong profile to enhance your chances. We would like you to share a detailed profile in order to evaluate your chances better. Thus, feel free to hop on a call with us to get a better and more detailed understanding of your profile and give you a fair and thorough evaluation.

Hence, feel free to schedule a call with us at your convenience.

Have Low GMAT or GPA- Let's discuss how to get into Top business schools

Cheers!

Major changes in the GMAT exam.

For decades, the GMAT Exam format has been an essential part of the MBA application process. It evaluates a student's ability to think critically, write analytically, and solve problems—all abilities that are crucial in the business world. A high GMAT score can considerably boost a student's chances of admission to their desired program, as many top business schools utilize it to evaluate applications.

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) underwent some substantial adjustments in March 2023 by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). These changes are expected to make the exam shorter and more focused, as well as improve the overall test-taking experience for students.

The GMAT exam pattern 2023 will be updated in a number of ways to address these issues, the most significant of which is a nearly one-hour reduction in the total test time. The GMAT Focus Edition test, which will replace the existing 3 hours and 23-minute test, will last 2 hours and 45 minutes. By removing some of the experimental questions that were previously used to evaluate new questions and formats, the time required will be reduced. The GMAT Focus Edition will instead have fewer questions but will be more concentrated on evaluating the fundamental competencies required for business school.

The GMAT focus edition will add a new portion known as the GMAT integrated reasoning session that will take the place of the present integrated reasoning section and test a student's capacity to apply critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to real-world circumstances.

In general, the changes to the GMAT Focus Edition are advantageous for students, business schools, and employers. It will help business schools and organizations find the most qualified individuals for their programs and roles while providing students with a more accurate and pertinent assessment of their skills.

Read more about the changes in the exam here!

Use the GMAT exam pattern to your advantage to raise your score. Book a call with MBAandBeyond today and discover the secrets to acing the GMAT exam pattern. Our expert team of MBA consultants will help you achieve your dreams of getting into the top MBA programs.
