Guys is it must to follow Insead resume format for the application?

Updated on: Apr 15 at 11:07am

No, in fact, personal opinion, don’t follow it. The resume format Insead provides is based on after-graduating from Insead, highlighting how you did in INSEAD. Whereas if you put education or college, which you did 5-10years ago, as the first thing in your MBA application CV, it makes little sense to me. According to me, Resumes should be in reverse chronological order, i.e. latest first. Your current role shouldn’t be at the bottom or in the middle of the resume. It should be highlighted. Completely personal opinion.

Instead, you can use the "formatting" aspect from INSEAD resume. Colours, Fonts spacing etc. Just my 2 cents

I just want to build on what Ggandhi already said. You don't need to use INSEAD's CV template. In reality, the template is meant to be used by current students so that INSEAD can put together a CV Book that they share with companies.

This is the reason the template has Education first. Since, in resumes, you put Education first when you're currently studying. If you're not currently studying, then Experience comes first.

I hope this clarifies a bit.

Warm regards
Alex

thanks :) appreciated!

from what i’ve seen, there are around 600 indian applications and 60 admitted in 1 cohort. i think they send interview invites to 120 people and select 60 odd probably. So 20% get invites, 10% get admitted

not too sure about the figures though

I did my video interview this morning, best piece of advice I can give is to practice using question banks similar to the one shared above. Think about your answer to each question and then practice delivering your response under the 1-minute time constraint. This is all you need to do to maximise your chances of presenting your best self.

Hi, I have a score of 710 (Q49, V38, IR5) in GMAT. But am from an over represented community. I applied in round 2. Will the admissions committee go through the entire application (essays, experience, recommendations) or is there a cut off for GMAT before proceeding to next stages?
