Hi INSEAD applicants,

at ARLeeConsulting, we have put together a flow diagram of the INSEAD MBA Application process so that it is easy to see the main milestones and their timing. Please, see below.

You can also download it in PDF from our website here: https://www.arleeconsulting.com/?fl=GC_ ... _processes

We have uploaded the same for more schools (e.g. M7, LBS, HEC Paris). Feel free to check them out.

I hope you find this useful.

Warm regards
Alex

@nikhil- need to know what are the recommendation question for the recommenders??

Jan 20 at 05:16am

Hi,
I have the following profile details:

GRE: 321/340 (I know its on the lower side. Was terribly sick and bombed two GREs in the process since my GMAT score had recently expired)
Non-IIT engineer (7.1/10)
WE: 9yrs (mostly social impact strategy consulting and research, impacting > a few million people)
EC: finalist in a few national and international comptt.
Extra professional exp.: Advisor to a couple of non-profits
Post MBA short term -Senior Product role in a global edu/health-tech firm
Long term - Tech4Good entrepreneurship

Currently in a Tech Product role doing pretty well and anchoring social impact too within the org.

I recently applied to INSEAD R3 with the above profile. I had decent essays and recos (one of it from an ex-INSEAD CEO).

My question is this:
If I get dinged in the current round, should I apply to R1 Jan cohort with an improved score? I know I can do much better in these standardised tests (asking this because INSEAD categorically deters re-applicants).

Hi neo92,

you're right. Historically, INSEAD has not been very reapplicant friendly. But these days, they seem to be more open to considering reapplications.

But ideally, there has to be some time between applications for your profile to improve. So in principle, reapplying in Round 1 (Jan 2024 intake) would not be recommended.

I understand you're assuming that your GRE score will be the primary reason for your ding (if dinged, of course) and you would like to reapply with a higher score. But I would still leave some time in between applications and look for additional ways to improve your profile.

You could also contact INSEAD directly (e.g. through your AO) and formally request permission to reapply. If granted, then they'll send you some guidelines on how to reapply. Sometimes, they basically request an updated CV, new test scores, and a reapplication essay of 400 words.

Warm regards
Alex

@ARLee Consulting
Thank you for the prompt reply. While I understand what you're saying makes sense, in a scenario where I am looking to start my MBA sooner that waiting for over a year, would you recommend giving an exam in the next 10 days and should the score improve, update my AO by Jan 31st/1st Feb?

Hi neo92,

yeah, go for it. If you are able to increase your score and update your AO before interview decisions are made, the AdCom will consider your new score.

Warm regards
Alex

Take the next step forward with INSEAD. Don’t miss our Round 1 submission deadline of 07 March 2024 (11:59 pm - Central European Time) for the MBA January 2024 Intake (Class of December 2024).

Applying early will give you access to more scholarships and other funding options. INSEAD offers over 140 MBA scholarships with differing eligibility criteria and grant amounts. Scholarships are awarded based on these elements (or a combination of them):
Financial need-based
Diversity-based (awarded based on cultural background, unique professional experience, academic excellence, leadership qualities, exceptional sports achievements, or rare interests and contributions to communities)

Yes - reasons to start now:
You need 2 months minimum to prep: 7 essays, + lots of work for your recommenders.
January intake allows you an internship ; August doesn’t. Critical if pivoting or going for IB.
Apply by April (Round 2) so that you can be considered for the great majority of scholarships.
