I don’t think so, they review apps in batches, ultimately every application would be read

just got done with my cornell interview. Here is a quick debrief. hope this helps -

Walk me thru your resume
Why mba - what gaps do you think you have?
What do you do outside of work? Fun activities to unwind.. and anything specific you started during the pandemic?
Why Johnson?
Summer internship plans?
Anything you’d like to add? (I told them contributions)
Questions for me?

also : what is your vision for your family’s business in 5-10 years

As you being Indian rec'd interview invite already, is it safe to assume for other Indians that it would be either a W/D ?

not at all! cornell is very slow in rolling out interviews. i wouldnt worry

New on this forum. Mine also states "Submitted".

Understand from the previous discussions on this forum that it means my application is yet to be reviewed by the AC (please let me know if this is not correct)

Hoping to get an invite:)

What percent of applications does Cornell invite to interview? and does anyone know the conversion rate from interview to acceptance?

Oct 19, 2022

Any under review that got dinged?

Oct 19, 2022

Hey guys, My status has changed from under review to schedule interview, but I haven’t gotten a mail yet.

Does the mail come in later? Has anyone faced this issue?

Per my understanding, Cornell interviews 50% of applicants and admits 80% of interviewees and has an overall acceptance rate of about 40%.

Cornell’s admit rate from interview is closer to 55%

No where close to 80%, NYU has a 75% rate, and is among the highest, Yale around 60% is also among the highest, 80% would be a record

*NYU is the highest

what’s you source for 80%?

SebRab wrote:Cornell Interviews about 60% as per this data?

This data would put cornells admit rate post interview at roughly 66%, nowhere close to 80%

I think we have some data that shows Cornell is in the top three in acceptance rates post-R1 interviews. I think it’s close to 70%

Also, an American friend of mine got an interview invite today

Should have prefaced this with “take this with a grain of salt”. Heard this from a friend who last year was interviewed and later denied. Needless to say, he was in the minority of interviewees

Do we still think Cornell’s overall acceptance rate is 40%?

it is usually in normal years, last year was just 30% supposedly according to P&Q

Round 3 this year could get ugly is this recession eventuates, economy is roaring and unemployment very low still as yet though

*if this recession eventuates

Round 1 and Round 2 should be higher than 30% though

That said, newly laid off techbros from Meta/Netflix/Google/Amazon will be heading for Round 2/3 apps, so it’s going to be rough for IT/Tech applicants
