Test flexibility and optionality of essay questions will allow every student the opportunity to demonstrate their strengths, shape their narrative and craft the most complete and compelling application. The application will again feature a series of short essays related to the School’s core values, including questions related to diversity and inclusion, leadership and collaboration. New for this year, applicants will be able to choose from a limited menu of essay prompts, and are also offered space to share more about their personal history.

We will once again accept a range of standardized test options, including GMAT, GRE, MCAT, LSAT and the Executive Assessment. These tests are all viewed equivalently by the admissions team. For applicants who would like demonstrate their academic readiness without a standardized test, we will again offer a standardized test waiver request process. For those who would like to be considered, candidates will be asked to present strong alternate evidence to demonstrate their readiness through academic and professional accomplishments. Review the Standardized Test FAQs for more details.

Hi, Did anyone received admit with Online gmat exam so far ?

Jun 5, 2021

Admitted students any advice for new applicants? u applied on your own or took help from consultants?

Jun 6, 2021

I’d recommend doing your research and building connections with current students and the adcom! I was accepted to Darden, Haas, and Tuck without help from any admission consultants (but I did watch Fridays with Sandy on YouTube). Feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss!

OptimisticPrime, with a 690, nonetheless. Bravo

OptimisticPrime, Thank you for the response. I am a reapplicant. I don’t know what went wrong. Wanted to connect with you to understand what works and how to present your application.

Thank you for sharing. What was your application like? The waiver was recently opened up for 2024 intake on Tuesday (6/8/21) and I submitted my waiver application to try to be among the first applicants.

I worked 4 years in Big 4 Audit, 1 year in a regional firm's M&A Advisory/Deal Advisory group with a ton of excel/quant analysis and experience with financial data. I have also been a CPA since 2018. My Cum. Undergrad GPA is not fantastic (3.25, which is 0.25 points less than Darden's 2022 class average of 3.5) but my business GPA is a 3.4 and I also shed light on why my grades were so poor for one year (tragic death of my best childhood friend). I hate using that as an "excuse" but because I missed a ton of classes and put my studies on the back-burner to figure out life, it truly was such a drain on my GPA and resulted in a Sub 3.0 that year. Otherwise, was consistently on Dean's list (3.5 or above). Also, it's worth nothing that my undergrad program was not a "blue-chip" undergrad program, but it's always in the top 50 list for undergrad business schools nationwide. Point being, not all 3.5 GPA's are created equally.

I was also the President of my fraternity, was on my Big 4's business unit's senior associate advisory board (NYC office), and have a ton of extracurriculars / leadership to point to. I just can't crack the GMAT for some reason, so I am going down the waiver route.

I was able to check two of the four boxes on the application: Work Experience and Certification. I did not check the undergrad box but addressed it head on in a concise one page graph/PDF document (as an analyst would). Hoping for the best but wondering what you think my chances are.

Appreciate it!

Hi!

This is my bg: I have 8y work experience (Ops and startup). GPA of 3.91. Southeast-Asia Applicant. I did highlight that I got A+ in my undergrad econometric class and part of MENSA High IQ community. I think to get a waiver, it’s less on leadership, but how you really convince the admission that you have the "quant" brain (maybe highlighting that you work on lots of numbers and analytical projects on your work experience).

Hope it helps.

On early action, you can proactively seek your own schedule with the admission.
