I was wondering if anyone could shed light on the application timelines for the next batch for PGP at ISB.

For the last couple of years, the R1 deadline has been Sep 15. Usually, ISB announces the application deadlines by end-May. For class of 2021 due to Covid crisis, ISB chose to restructure the program with a hybrid online+offline approach and increase the duration. The class will now graduate by May-end 2021 vs early April 2021 as originally planned.

Hence, this year, we're expecting the admissions cycle to reflect the change and the deadlines could be announced next month.

Manan

I have heard that more than 250 people deferred their admission to Co22. Considering a batch size of 900 students and accounting for the deferrals, leaves us with a balance of approx.650 admits. Considering YLP and EEO admits, the balance would be in the range of 500-450 admits.
Can someone throw more light on this issue? Looks like getting an admit just got tougher.

This year, getting into ISB would be tougher as you rightly pointed out not just due to the deferring but also since this is the best time to go for an MBA while the economy is in hiatus and bounces back by 2022/23. For e.g. in 2008-09, the school saw a 25% jump in applications. Hence, it would be all the more prudent to apply in R1 since you will have a shot at all the seats and there might not be a R3 like previous years.

Hi,

Hearing that from next year onwards, quarter of the year will be online classes? Is that true? Are there more changes that have happened due to Corona aftermath?

Yes, this seems to be the case. ISB has also introduced a new study trek option for this year, though it remains to be seen how viable that would be given the state of travel right now.

May 27, 2020

will these online classes have a negative impact on its admissions being a 1-year program?

May 27, 2020

Hi,
When does ISB give out the timelines for next year's class (2021) ?

May 27, 2020

Hi guys, I am in the present class of ISB PGP. The online module (DHM) is slated to start on the 15th of June and will go on for 10 weeks. Campus classes are slotted to begin from 1st September. We have been briefed that this is going to be the schedule for the future classes too. The course will end on 31st May 2021.

I am from Merchant navy background and i have 24 months of experience as a Trainee navigation officer.
The course structure of Merchant Navy is quiet different from others.

Initially my course was as such..
1. DIPLOMA IN NAUTICAL SCIENCE
2. 24 MONTHS OF SAILING AS A TRAINEE NAVIGATION OFFICER
3. RECEIVING BSC (Graduation) DEGREE
4. SHIPPING MINISTRY EXAMS TO BE CLEARED

I would like to ask that.. Would that work experience before getting the Bsc degree be counted FOR PGP course since i had a diploma then.
I assure that it was a full time work experience with the assigned responsibilities as per the rank.

Does this mean, every year for the 1st 10 weeks, students will be attending classes online and then shift to isb campus later?

May 27, 2020

Hey. I am also from Merchant Navy and had put the same query to Adcom ISB. They replied that only the full time experience post B.Sc. will be considered. We can connect if you intend to apply this year.

So only 7 months of campus experience, are the fees reduced considering you won't be using the facilities and will be online classes?

So the Course duration has been increased to 52 weeks and will end on May 31st. So we will be in campus for 9 months. ISB has reduced the accommodation fees on a pro rata basis for the online component however the tuition fees remains the same.

Hope that helps

Hi.

Is it true that many students from the current batch have deferred admissions to next year?

If so, how does that affect chances for fresh applicants next year?
