Calling all ISB PGP Applicants - (2022 Intake) Class of 2023 : ISB - Page 10

Jun 7, 2021

Hii everyone, can anyone please tell me how many days do we get from the day of results to the last day of payment of school acceptance/confirmation fee of 3+ lakhs? Is this interval sufficient to secure the loan?

Hi! Need a profile evaluation. I am a reapplicant. Previously applied with a score of 690 to ISB with 2.5 years of work experience. I am an ex Teach for India alum and now I have 7 years of work experience ( NGO, govt consulting and my own startup) Currently I have a four year old fmcg startup with a revenue of 85 Lac INR. I am giving gmat in august again. My extra curricular are Representing India at the world business dialogue and United Nations summer school (2013 and 2015), Hyper realism portrait sketching where I took a workshop with a famous world renowned artist. I love reading and my startup has been incubated IIM Bangalore but without funding. I am a female engineer. What are my chances?

Wow.
Your profile is aptly named supergirl1992.
Almost every detail mentioned here gets top points on diversity.
Even from a reapplicant perspective, I'd assume you'll be able to show great improvement.
Academically speaking, anything above a 690/700 should put you in a strong position.
Challenge will be identifying the right stories to tell (as I feel you might have many, which is a good problem to have).
Only question mark here is why MBA after all this. Do you even need it. Since any mention of career goals or motivation behind MBA is missing, difficult to pass a judgement.

If you have a convincing narrative there, there's little that can stop you from getting an interview invite.

In general (based on past discussions with adcom), the EEO + YLP intake for a particular year is ~130-150.

Hi , Can someone tell me if there is anything else needed while applying to ISB (Normal PGP application). 1. One LOR from someone we have worked with. 2. 2 Essays 3. GMAT / GRE Score. ^ Is there anything else that is needed ?

Jun 9, 2021

I have resigned from my current job after 3 years and will join my new firm from Sep 1. Do i need to mention this in my ISB R1 application this year or can i skip this as my experience would be just 2 weeks at the R1 deadline.

application form. It is a very important and often underrated component. Before getting to your essays, the adcom goes through the details about your work ex, eca etc and already forms an impression. The LoR is a questionnaire sent to your evaluator.

you should mention. It shows that the gap between two roles is minimal. Expect questions in the Interview.

Hello shashwatp96 , I would definitely encourage you to talk about your new job for any B school application. This will highlight that you continue taking new responsibilities and learning new skills, and are on the right track in terms of career progression. You should though, talk about the rational behind leaving your current job and how the new opportunity would help you improve as a manager or a project leader, and make you an even stronger candidate at ISB with the new knowledge you would gain.

Thanks for the answer. I had a doubt. It is a form consisting of just basic details or does it require any well formed answers as well (similar to essays). And the evaluator can be anyone - Eg. I have a work ex of almost 3 years , so the reporting manager ?

There is a character limit to these answers (100-200 chars) and they need to be well crafted. For evaluations..
1) Your evaluator should be someone you’ve closely worked with (there’s a question in the evaluation for that) and ideally more experienced/senior. AFTER this criterion,
2) More senior the better

She/he can be your reporting manager.

MananS4G, I had a doubt regarding ISB YLP, if I take the GMAT in August mid .. I’ve heard it takes about 20 days for the official score to come. What if my official score doesn’t come till 31st August? Another thing, what if GMAC does not send the score to isb till 31sg August?

That’s only in case of online GMAT that the score comes in a week or so. If it is at the test center, you get the unofficial score immediately after the test and you can submit that. Either way, ISB should have the proof that the exam was taken prior to 31st August. Last year for PGP R2 and R3, ISB followed the same protocol wrt deadlines.

Hi, would a 710 suffice for EEO? I’m a management trainee at one of the top pharma companies in India.

a higher score would be desirable in case there aren’t other spikes in the profile. ISB’s average is ~720 and EEOs are generally expected to be around that or more.

Thank you, what should I submit as proof then? (sorry for stretching the question)
