Many folks with such profiles get admitted with a 690 and get rejected with a 730 as well. Hence, there is no ’required’ or ’’safe score’. It is always in the context of the profile, quality of application/essays and more importantly, what YOUR best attempt is. Use ISB’s average as a broad benchmark but do not wait until that score is reached or rest when you achieve it even though you could do better. Similar thoughts from a recent ex-adcom in this session I hosted. Take a look https://youtu.be/kwu2Et07s5k

Hello ApratimG

You are doing very noble work, your work experience will be highly valued. Hope you have equally good short-term and long-term career goals. The average GMAT score of the current batch is 713 hence suggest you target 720+.

Hey Guys! Trust ya’ll having a great week!

I got 730 in gmat. I got 5 years of work ex. Current designation - account director in an ad agency working on Digital growth for top brands in country like Kingfisher, SanDisk, BCCI, Lucknow Super Giants, etc Academics has never been good, scored average 70%ish in 10/12 both. Any tips of what i can do from here on to strengthen the profile? I aim to appear in R1

I think the profile is really good as it. The lack of good scores in 10th,12th (assuming grad as well) is made up through the gmat. This gives an indication to the adcom that you are analytically sound and can handle the academic rigor of ISB. The workex too is diverse as not many folks from this domain apply. There’s nothing much to be done to further strengthen the profile. Rather, focus on presenting your stories and experiences well. Happy to have a detailed chat if you want. Cheers

Hi There,

I have 6 years of work ex including 3.5 years in US. I was an acting project manger in US for a year and now I am a Product owner/business analyst. Can someone give me a rough estimate about what would be the very minimum GMAT score I would need to have a chance in ISB or IIM A/B/C ?

My engineering and schooling results were not so great. around 90% in boards, 75% in +2 and 75% in B.Tech.

Eksha22, good profile overall. Your major selling points are your work-ex plus the venture you have. Do note that you WILL be asked in the interview why you don’t want to foray into full-time entrepreneurship post ISB. Regarding GMAT, while 700 is decent (acads average), if you feel it is not your best shot then retake. You should give it your absolute best on ALL aspects of your application. Happy to have a chat in detail if you wish to.

Nope

Jun 19, 2022

IIM-A doesn’t accept GMAT online score ? This is news to me

Would like to know if anyone can explain this

Jun 19, 2022

Not sure what explains this but yesterday i attended one admission session from IIM A and they confirmed that they won’t accept GMAT Online scores.

Jun 19, 2022

Is it for 2 year programmes or for all programmes in general ?

Jun 19, 2022

Mentions on their website that they will consider GRE/GMAT for PGPX programs. Dunno for PGP.

Yeah eligibility criteria specifically says "For this year as an exception GMAT/GRE taken at home is also valid for PGPX." and the dates seems to be updated too

Nonetheless, all we do is wait till tomorrow

Hi All,

I am planning to apply to ISB and IIM A B C for their 1 year MBA programs. Can anyone please recommend a decent admission consultant who can help me with the applications?

any re-applicant facing any issues while creating an account on ISB website? I’m getting an error message stating "Please enter application ref. no." although there’s no slot to enter the application

This is after filling up the initial form that you get after clicking on "create account" and then selecting the re-applicant choice

Hi rajat1995

You have a rich consulting work experience and decent academic percentage, hope you have good outside classroom achievements too. You should perhaps think of improving your GMAT score from 700 to the average GMAT score of the present cohort.

Hello Eksha22

Below are my inputs on your profile and answer to your query:

1. Your academic percentage is good however, not very good considering the competition in the pool for PGP.
2. You have a rich but limited work experience compared to the average work experience of the batch.
3. The SPOT award won and other work achievements shared resonates with your quality work experience.
4. Learning from the limited entrepreneurial experience will be valued, hope you are making good use of the 10k followers.
5. Achievements outside your work experience are highly valuable.

Based on the above, I would strongly advise that trying to improve the GMAT score will definitely put your profile in strong contention for the PGP program.
