sad I got rejected, but lucky to have received a duke admit last week. I guess schools are making choosing between programs a lot easier

Not really ! Just expressed my interest a bit more through a follow up. And then received a feedback saying that they don’t have any specific thing for me to work on. Hence, had left it at that !

I can now confirm that this assumption is NOT true. The Adcom staff asked me during the call to check the portal and official offer letter for scholarship, and I did receive scholarship.
