Hi Anki18,
Yes of course you can! You have a great GMAT score, and with 11 years of experience, you just need to articulate what you will bring to the school to enrich the experience for your classmates.

Hey Anki18,

To answer your question, yes you can opt for an MBA with such vast work experience. You can make this vast experience your plus point in your application as it will give you immense opportunities to display your leadership skills to the AdComs. However, some schools are critical with the age factor, but it all depends on what you bring to the table.

To get a better understanding of your profile and evaluate your chances to the top B-schools, feel free to schedule a call with us at your convenience.

Cheers!

Anki18

Yes, it is definitely possible to pursue an MBA with 11 years of work experience in the IT industry. You need to pick programs that might favor students with higher work ex. This will ensure that you get good benefits from the cohort too. More importantly, you need to convey very clear reasons for why you are pursuing an MBA at this stage of your career and why from that particular school you are applying to.

Your GMAT score is good. It would be helpful to have more details on your background and your career trajectory. Do you have significant leadership and team management skills? Have you had any fast-track promotions or significant projects and awards? Do you have international experience?

You can definitely go for the traditional full-time MBA programs, but you should also consider EMBA programs and Full-Time Senior EMBA Programs - these are full-time executive MBA programs designed to prepare mid-career managers to magnify their impact as leaders. The students in these programs are experienced executives and mid-career professionals with a minimum of 10 years of work experience, for example: Stanford MSx, MIT Sloan Fellows.

Hello Anki18,

Even though very few schools accept people with higher experience candidates, you can still apply and get an admit to regular MBA programs with 10+ years of work ex. Making sure about shortlisting the right program is the key step to getting admission. Though the competition for applicants from IT/technology backgrounds would be slightly higher compared to other cohorts, an outline for ROI and career opportunities are wide open throughout the globe.

These are programs to apply for with 10+ years of experience.
1. Texas A&M University
2. Mannheim Business School
3. Arizona State University

You can also try our Chances of B schools tool to know which programs suit 10+ years of experienced candidates.

- Yes, you absolutely can. Please provide more details on your profile
- While 10+ years of experience can make some schools consider you as too experienced, there are others which would be fine with you applying. Please go through this article as well to understand more.
- It would be great to have more insight into your profile - work experience, leadership, achievements, your goals, and which schools (broadly) you are looking to target.
