You agree - I did exactly that at first (excluded myself from this list) but then I figured as my 9,000 posts are almost impossible to avoid, it would be a good promotion of the new title and hopefully will help people discover other users who are on this list. I plan to be off soon though since I will almost always be on it (I own most stickies and with that post volume, almost guaranteed to be on the list). (not sure if I have made a full circle there in my reasoning, just wanted to say we are in agreement)

No offence to you. But I had a quick thought that if you were not on that list.then, someone else could have made it.he/she would feel great for his/her contribution and it ll motivate him/her to contribute more.

Appreciation boosts morale and motivates also.

Can I suggest you something?

I had a though, if you can compile a list of 100 or 50 most active member of GC on monthly basis and award them with something like kudos or free test anything worthy. It ll motivate members to contribute more and help them to get a better insight of any problem if discussion get intense.

Moreover, making into your list would be an achievement in itself.

Here is a top 19 (one member is missing on purpose).... it actually does not take much to get on the list - only about 10 Kudos in one month.
