GMAT score : Magoosh

I gave free official GMAT mock 1 last month and got Q48 V18

I prepared for verbal and gave Manhattan free test today and got Q42 V27,my verbal Score increased for which I am happy but my quants score decreased drastically, and I am pretty confident that I am good enough to score Q46-Q48.

Can you give some insight why did this happen?

Manhattan mocks have comparatively difficult questions for quant than any other mock, which you probably weren’t prepared for. That’s the reason for this drop.
I would suggest you to buy the Manhattan mocks and give those for more practice. Try to score higher than 45 in those and that should convert to a 47 or a 48 in the real GMAT. Go over your mistakes in the free Manhattan mock to figure out if you could have solved those questions if there was no time constraint.
Do give the GMAT club free tests. The Manhattan ones have very interesting questions which should help you improve the score to a 49 or a 50.
Verbal score also has a margin for improvement. Download the 700-800 level question pdfs for SC, CR and RC from GMAT club (you should get that by a simple search). That really helped me go from a 28 to a 38.

I hope this helps!

Manhattan Quant is very tough which i feel is not representative of GMAT difficulty level. So don't worry about it.

Hi Shreyam09

While we love your confidence and zeal, we must also provide an input that not all tests go well every time and we have to focus on doing better in the next shot.

Several test taking adverse factors are into action while you are taking the test including the type of test, your anxiety level, your ability to stay calm under the pressure of a ticking timer "on that day" and your guess works(which if wrong in a row will severely penalize you with your scores).

It is not impossible to control these factors while simultaneously you have to keep solving questions and make sure that you are getting them right under a timer while practicing daily.

Take daily quizzes, improve on your concepts and revise once a week with 700+ questions from the topics you have practiced in the week.

Analyze your errors in the revision, daily quizzes and OG.(This is non negotiable)

Also there is a no do or die situation. Pls prepare with a positive yet competitive mindset. Enjoy the journey.

We know you will make it and have the college of your vision!

Keep going while you analyze the errors and work on them during the prep process.

Please feel free to connect with us for any guidance/assistance!

Wishing you the very best!
