Hi,

A cover letter is a like a statement of purpose, where you would tell the business school why you are applying and how you will benefit from the MBA program.
To break it further, here's what you should cover via the cover letter:
1. 1-2 line intro- show your interest in the program.
2. para 2- tell about your work experience briefly, 1-2 key achievements. goals and how all this together has given you the motivation for an MBA
3. para 3- make it relevant for Tippie. Why do you want to study there? give 3-4 solid reasons
4. Para 4- in return, what will you bring to Tippie? Mention 1-2 areas where you will contribute and how
5. Para 5 - conclude

I am assuming you are writing a 300-500 word cover letter. Depending upon the word limit, you can allocate space for each element/ knock off something that is not so important.

Hope that helps
