Hey, thanks for starting this thread but I feel it will be more useful to have everyone on just 1 thread. Since there is just 3 months gap between Sep and Jan intake, people can easily switch the round to which they are applying to , and more people in one place will generate more ideas and support.
I suggest- use the already existing groups to take the discussion ahead.

Abhishank Asha89 I see some merit in your idea here; just would be very important to remove all the SEPTEMBER batch language from your thread and/or add JANUARY language so people know where to go. Narenn?

Absolutely! Congrats, that will help develop a nice case for a pattern of leadership. And contribution as well, two out of the four criteria.Asha89 wrote:I'm starting work on my essays and have a question. I work with an NGO that empowers women from low-income families with vocational training so they can start their own businesses. Does this work come under "extra-professional" activities that essay 3 mentions?

@abhishank, I think there will be too much overlap and the notifications would not be useful half the time for everybody. So I think that it's probably best to continue keeping these separated. Maybe we can take some measures to increase our numbers.Abhishank wrote:Asha89 wrote:Hi everyone, I noticed we don't have a group of INSEAD Jan 2019 intake and since the Round 1 preps have started, why not create one? Jan intake has an INTERNSHIP option while Sep intake is without Internship
Does it make sense to apply in SEP Intake - without Internship????? or Apply in JAN intake ???
i think you didn't get any replies on this thread because nobody here may have a clear idea about it. i have been researching the same thing for a while. here is what i have found so far -
1. US 2 year MBA program places considerable emphasis on internship. For some career switches internship is an absolute must irrespective of geographical location. One example - from no financial background to IB, PE or if you are lucky enough VC.
2. US internship duration is 4 months compared to 2 months duration of INSEAD J internship.
3. Only 50% of J batch students actually seek internship at INSEAD. only 25% of those convert those to full time offers.
4. If you are planning to go to INSEAD and then aspire to work in PE in London, then J batch and PE internship is a must. That will give your resume some fighting chance.
5. You only have 2-3 years experience. Rare at INSEAD, but possible.
6. If #4 and #5 doesn't apply to you, i.e. your career goals are in consulting or general management and you have few years of experience, then there is no difference between Jan/Sept.

Even though I don't look it I'm kind of old (45) and I've never done the https://gmatclub.com/chat thing I downloaded it once and I was intimidated. But I would be open to doing this I just contacted my friend Pranav to help me. No guarantees yet tho.NikGujju wrote:I am interested. Please create some https://gmatclub.com/chat group too
