"I just finished my interview with an Alum which lasted for about 45 mins. It was very conversational. We had a lot of similar topics to talk upon. However, the main questions were: 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why ROSS? 4. Most uncomfortable situation in life and what did you learn. 5. TMAT when you had to convince someone for something which they did not believe in. 6. TMAT when you had to adapt. 7. TMAT when you worked with different cultures and how did you adapt and what did you learn. 8. The last question was something regarding support system in my life and how do I use it. Overall, it was a good interview according to me."

"Just had my interview. It was a horrible experience. :( So, my interviewer was Kenneth Katz (a Ross alum). He graduated from Ross MBA in 1997! Seeing his profile, I was already skeptical on the interview format. As feared, it was a very very serious interview, and he was not in a good mood. He did not smile even once. Nothing like the 6 other MBA interviews I have given in the last days. The questions were the same that are already on the debrief (Why MBA, Why Ross, TMAT when u worked in a team, conflict with team member/boss, setback). He kept on complaining throughout the interview that I'm speaking too fast although I think I was conversing very fine as in other interviews. Maybe it was due to his age. He even told me that "I'm speaking fast because I might be nervous, and this is not how an interview should be given". I think it was very rude of him. Should I email the adcom on my experience? I know it's a done case for me but at least it might help someone else."

"It was a great interview, very conversational and she was engaged and interested. I also looked her up on LinkedIn prior to the interview so we chatted about her company before anything which made it feel a lot more conversational and comfortable the rest of the time. - started with tell me about yourself - Why and MBA and why Ross blended together (took some time to just chat about all this rather than question response) - TMAT you worked on a team - TMAT you disagreed with a teammate or boss - TMAT you missed something major (with a few follow up questions on how the controls I implemented were continued through the rest of my career). Overall great experience."

"It was great - probably the best interview I’ve had thus far. Interviewer was an alum that left in 2013. He was engaged and asked good but tough questions. He also pushed me when he felt my answer for one of the questions wasn’t quite there which was good! To be honest I’m not great at remembering interview questions which is why I haven’t really submitted debriefs. Sorry guys :( But the basis of the conversation revolved around leadership, specifically the different behaviours and rationales that I "exhibited" as a leader. One question that did throw me off a bit was something like: "Give me an example of a time that you’ve led without force" (or something to that effect!) I actually asked him to clarify what he meant by force - I felt that it could be interpreted in a few different ways, but he pushed back and said that the question was open for a reason! All in all, as with any interview just be ready to explain why you want to go to business school, why this business school in particular, and why an MBA is right for you at this moment in time (as opposed to just continuing with your career). Remember that it’s also a two way street - what can you offer them/the class! If I remember any more questions I’ll put them here."

"Interviewed with a Alumni. It lasted for about 35 minutes. It was scheduled for Google meet but due to some video issues there, we moved to Zoom. Questions asked: 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why Ross? 4. Tell me a time when you had a conflict at work place and how did you handle it? 5. Tell me a time when you had a knowledge gap and how did you mitigate it? 6. Tell me a time when you had to work with a diverse set of group? And what was the key learning from that experience? 7. Any questions for me? After this she said that the interview is over. But then she went on to talk a bit about her consulting experience at Bain. She told me that they want people who have the technical know-how in the realm of climate change for ESG consulting (I wrote a research thesis on Climate change during my Masters and it was mentioned as such in my resume). She then casually asked me about my target locations for work post-MBA and gave me a few suggestions regarding the same. After that we discussed a bit about energy industry's pros and cons and then she ended the zoom interview saying, "You have done an awesome job. The final decision will be out on the 9th of Dec". Overall, I am happy with the interview, but from my time at GmatClub, I know that good interviews do not always translate into an admit. Or an interview that you might construe as good may not really have gone that way. Or other candidates may have outperformed you. So you just can't say anything till the actual decision is in your hand. So, I am gonna stay grounded and leave the rest to the old gods and new."

"Ritesh Bawri was my interviewer. He was friendly and it felt like a casual conversation as if I was networking with some employee. I am working as a software engineer for 3 years now and I plan to move into PM roles Post MBA. 1. Tell me about yourself 2. I mentioned about an application I work on. He asked me a couple questions on what is the purpose of the appland how I was able to achieve that purpose through my work. The app I work on is for improving collaboration among employees and the interviewer asked me "All interactions are meant to bring joy or happiness. How does your app do that" 3. Why MBA? What are my goals? Why Ross? - 3 standard questions 4. He asked me a follow up on Why Ross. "There are options like Harvard, Stanford and other schools in California if you are interested in tech. Why makes you choose Ross" Questions I asked him 1. You may have had many wonderful experiences at Ross. If you can talk about one such experience what would it be 2. I went through your LinkedIn profile and I understand that you moved from an AI company to a lifestyle company. What were your thoughts when you did this industry change"

"Had my interview today with an alumni class of 2020. Very similar to the other interview debriefs although she sounded like was in a bit of a rush (it was mid working day for her). Questions: 1. She asked me to quickly introduce myself, to keep it short and focused on something that is not on my resume since she has read it already. 2. Why an MBA? 3. Why Ross? 4. How do you lead without authority and how do you influence peers on the same level as you? 5. Tell me about a time you showed resilience? 6. Short term/long term goals post MBA 7. Open floor to questions. Overall it took about 30 minutes considering the questions I had for her. It was a good experience and direct on point from both sides."

"Hi Guys, Got done with my interview today. It was with alum, Class of 2020 (Veteran). Total 60 minutes of interview (35 mins of interview questions) Interview experience is as follows: My interviewer was really welcoming and set up the expectations straight up. Introduced himself, told me he will start by asking me to introduce myself, ask some more questions, then will ask some behavioral questions that he has here with him and will open up the forum for me to ask anything about Ross, his experience etc. as it needs to be a 2 way street and I need to be fairly convinced with the school I am interviewing for. Questions were as follows: 1) Tell me about yourself (followed by a casual chat about a common hobby that we both had) 2) Why MBA (again a follow up chat on something I forgot now, spoke here about my goals too, both ST and LT) 3) Why Ross (he paused my answer to discuss his MAP project and then we continued from there) 4) TMAT when you started something new or unknown 5) TMAT when you motivated a colleague you are on same level with 6) TMAT you failed 7) TMAT you ensured inclusivity in your team (there were two more stems to this question so it was a slightly longer answer from my end) Not sure if he had only 4 behavioral questions planned or ran out of time. Next 25 mins we discussed 4-5 questions I had for him."
