Hi Vinodhini1803

There are 10 merit-based full tuition waivers. The criteria for scholarship is merit, which includes GMAT scores, overall profile, strength of the application, and interview performance.

Hi GyanOne,

Thanks for quick reply. So if a person is applying in R2, his chance of scholarship is low?

Oct 7, 2020

Hey my profile is not yet verified by ISB. Also I will be giving my GMAT only in this month..will they verify only after GMAT score submission.

I don't know what their procedure would be this year, but last year, many people got an invite without any verification update on the portal or any verification mail per se. So, you never know.

Any idea how long it takes after the interview to know whether you're getting an admit or not? I'm talking about the YLP admit.

Hey dranushka1497,

Final results are generally announced around the tentative date mentioned on their website. All admit mails are sent by that date. :)

Generally, full tuition waivers are given to R1 applicants. However, full tuition waivers are not the only kind of scholarships. There are others also, that R2 applicants too are eligible for.

Yes, they will verify after GMAT score submission. You can also choose to move your application to Round 2 in case you do not get the desired GMAT score by October 31.

Yes, sometimes, ISB can miss sending the verification email.

However, this year is a bit different, especially for her case, as many people are yet to submit GMAT scores.

Hi Murtaza2153

Thanks for posting. Here is our assessment:
- Your CGPA is excellent, and your work in engineering is definitely noteworthy.
- Your ECA are good from a college point of view, but you will need more. Any social experience? Any sports/music/arts experience?
- Any international experience to report?
- With a 710, you will certainly have a chance, but you will need to be careful about positioning your goals in the right way and showing a strong fit with ISB. Engineering profiles are aplenty, so differentiating yourself in a competitive pool is critical.

Hope this helps. Feel free to come back with more queries as needed.

Work Ex - Adobe (3.5 years)
Software engineer - 2
Promoted in Feb 2019. Excepting one in Feb 2021 (not sure though)

Major Achievements :-
1. Couple of research papers (One in 2020 where I managed a product intern)
2. Mentor of a team who are the APAC winners in the Technovation program. (The largest tech entrepreneurship program for school girls in the world)
3. Gold medal in Academic and Co-curricular activities, IIT hyd
4. Academic and research excellence awards during undergrad
5. Spot awards in Adobe

My question:
I'm planning to apply in R2 this year.

1. What are the chances of selection?
2. What are the chances of scholarships (any tips for the same)?

Hi @arjun_iyer

GPA and GMAT are in line. ECA (though not details on specific activities are available) seem fine, given the gold medal in ECA in IIT. The only thing here is that you are coming in from a highly over-represented background, and this is already Round 2 (usually that may not matter, but this year it does). So a solid app is warranted. What goals are you thinking of mentioning?

Hope this helps. Please get in touch directly at info@gyanone.com (referring to this thread) for other queries.

I have a doubt. I just gave gre 2 days before the isb deadline. I dont have the official scorecard yet. ISB has mentioned that i can upload the unofficial scorecard. where to get it from? I have put in ISB as one of the 4 free colleges you can apply through ETS. Please tell me what to do.

Thankyou

Hi sanilshekatkar

You can email ISB and let it know of the situation. Please attach evidence of your GRE appointment two days before the deadline, so they know that you met the deadline.

Indian IT Male MBA applicants: Thinking about an MBA

Indian IT Male!! The term itself has become more of a categorization rather than a description.
The IT sector is one of the largest employers for Indian technology professionals, and is a service leader when it comes to technology and even business services.
Indian IT professionals work on the business and technology processes of the world’s leading organizations, and provide not just support, but also partnership in helping large organizations succeed and fulfill their business objectives.
Yet, the Indian IT Male tends to consider himself at an inherent disadvantage in the MBA admission process. This need not be the case, and IT professionals need to get their strategy right in selecting and applying to top schools without giving up on their dreams..Indian IT Male MBA

Hi Gyanone,

I am a prospective applicant for the next session. Someone told me that the classes for the PGP Co2021 are continuing till August 2021 due to covid. Just wanted to confirm if this true.

If true, then the graduating students will be joining their jobs only by end August/Sept 2021. Wont that be too late for the companies.

Thanks

Hi rikul

Thanks for posting. Hope you and your family are keeping safe.

Yes, classes for PGP Co21 will continue till August 2021. Co22 will reach campus (provided the COVID situation so allows) after that and will graduate next August (i.e. Aug 2022).

Placements for Co21 are already done. Recruiting companies know that Co21 will graduate in August 2021 and they have rolled out offers and specified joining dates accordingly.
