Jeff was incredibly helpful in improving my score by 40 points (710 --> 750). He pinpointed my weaknesses in both verbal and quant, even though I had really only flagged verbal as a concern. In addition to teaching me strategy and diving deeper into questions I was answering incorrectly, Jeff was just a calming presence with the perfect balance of pushing me to be better and serving as a motivational coach. After taking the GMAT a couple of times with no significant improvement in my score, I was thrilled when Jeff's coaching had a direct and quick impact on my studying tactics and score on test day.

I took the 9-week Manhattan Prep course with Dave, and in addition to his top notch teaching, the class environment he fostered also made the time more enjoyable. Overall, Manhattan Prep's UI was very good and the strategy guides were as well. I had never taken the GMAT before and no familiarity with test, and scored in the high 500s on my first Manhattan Prep CAT. After the class, which was a great foundational intro, I began tutoring with Dave. His insight and ability to explain concepts and strategies were excellent, and he always knew the right leading questions to ask. Dave helped me fine tune my processes, time management, and strategy execution, and I scored a 710 on my first real GMAT. Just a month later, after only focusing on the areas that Dave helped me identify, I nailed my target score of a 730. I am thrilled with my improvement and I cannot recommend Dave highly enough!

Paul is the most incredible GMAT tutor you could ask for. He is super sharp, knows the test in and out, and will give you the best personalized plan you need to succeed in reaching your GMAT score goals. I was on the fence about getting a tutor and spent a lot of time on my own preparing. My progress dramatically accelerated within a few weeks of working with Paul and I got my target score and accepted into my #1 choice MBA program. If you are on the fence - here is your nudge to sign up and work with him! Cannot recommend him highly enough!

I began my GMAT studying in May 2020. After 2 test attempts, my highest score was a 640 and I felt like I had hit a plateau. In the past, I've always pushed through this kind of test roadblock, but this time was different. This time I needed help.
After some research, I chose Manhattan Prep and was paired with Chris Gentry. It's been incredible to work with someone as talented as Chris throughout my GMAT studying process. In addition to being really smart and skilled at the GMAT, Chris also has a great personality. But above all else, I've really appreciated Chris's flexibility and understanding. I always felt like Chris catered his lessons and plans to my strengths and tendencies, which allowed me to succeed in ways I could have never done myself.
After 4 months of prep, I was able to push through the plateau and score a 710. However, my time with Chris didn't end there. I also had plans to take the LSAT, and Chris again put me in the best position to succeed.
To master any standardized test is tough, even for the best test takers. But how hard is it to master two standardized tests, especially when they are applicable to separate fields? The obvious answer is really hard, but Chris was more than up to the task. With his help I walked into the 2021 October LSAT (just 4 months removed from my 710 GMAT) with more confidence than I could have ever imagined. While I won't know my LSAT score for a couple of weeks, I've seen success on a few practice test and feel confident that Chris has made the difference for me, again.
It should come then as no surprise that I heavily recommend having lessons with Chris, so that he can make the difference for you too!

I initially requested Jeff to be my tutor after I had attended one of his free online GMAT prep hours and saw that he was strong in Quant. I was convinced that Quant was my weakness since I had a lower percentile score in Quant than Verbal. Right off the bat, he showed me how percentiles lie and recommended that I primarily focus my efforts on Verbal. He taught me how to effectively deconstruct an argument in critical reasoning questions and corrected some grammar misconceptions I had in sentence correction (i.e., adverbial vs. noun modifiers, -ing words are not all present tense). With reading comprehension, I learned to stick very closely to the text, especially for inference questions. Do not assume anything in verbal without evidence from the passage to back your conclusion!
I had considered giving up on the GMAT and MBA applications this year after taking the exam multiple times and not getting the results I wanted. With Jeff’s guidance and expertise, I found the motivation and vigor to keep going. Not only did I get the score I wanted, but I also enjoyed the process of studying for the GMAT. Highly recommend Jeff as a tutor if you are new to the GMAT or stuck in a rut but determined to reach your goal!

I took both the Manhattan GMAT course and 1x1 sessions with Mark Sullivan. He was AWESOME. He's naturally a great teacher (probably b/c he is a professor by trade!). The class was super engaging (I can genuinely say I actually enjoyed the class and looked forward to it every week, as odd as that sounds!) and he was really good at flexing the material and difficulty levels to the needs of the class. He is SO patient, and adapts the explanation from your point of view, i.e., how you went about the problem and your thought process. He was also SO helpful in follow-up questions I had after class. For one specific instance, I had a quant problem that I followed up with him on via email, and he not only responded quickly, but followed up with a recorded video of him explaining the problem... I was mind blown at the dedication and generosity.
I also really enjoyed our 1x1 sessions. I was struggling with how to organize my personal prep after the class over, so I sought 1x1s with him to prep the last mile ahead of taking the test. He laid out in extreme detail, the daily prep schedule, with drills, additional exercise sheets, etc. Definitely super helpful to have Mark on your team, he is all around a thoughtful, kind, and pleasant person to be around, who inspires confidence in your success :)

After taking a GMAT prep course and studying for two months without seeing my score improve, I decided private tutoring may be a good option for me. I did a lot of research and found Mark had great reviews so I reached out with one month left until my test date. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS I did! Mark helped me pick apart my strengths and weaknesses. He showed me exactly what to focus on to increase my score. Not only that, he also taught me tips and tricks on how to best take the test. Mark is patient and always happy to help, and he knows this test inside out. If you REALLY stick to the homework he assigns (redo log especially), you will see an improvement. Every penny was worth it. THANK YOU MARK!

I went into working with Jeff with very little context on the GMAT and a general assumption that if I had done well on past standardized exams, I could do well on the GMAT with minimal effort levels. Not only was I wrong, but I quite literally could not have gotten the score I received without Jeff's coaching, support, and the structure he provided. Jeff is without a doubt the most helpful tutor I've had and managed to provide an approach to my exam that helped me succeed beyond my own expectations. I would recommend Jeff and Manhattan Prep to any student looking to nail the GMAT and get over the hump.

When I started my GMAT journey, I scored a 490 on my first Manhattan CAT. I was certainly not one of those "Score a 740 in 20 days" stories. In David's Manhattan prep class I learned all of the ground-up framework necessary to understand the GMAT and strategize how to conquer it. Equally as important, as the COVID-19 crisis emerged, David and Manhattan prep made the transition to online learning seamless. At this point David and I had started private tutoring and he was able to give me a structured workload with followup meetings to keep me on track. As I continued to advance, David and I dug deeper into different strategies to tackle the toughest questions while reinforcing the framework that was built in the beginning. After scoring a 680 GMAT on my first run, there was no panic and David refocused my approach to improve on my weakest sections. The results speak for themselves and on my second go, I scored a 740. I am over the moon with my score and how far I've come, and I can not thank David enough for his help and guidance!
