Hello all, I’d applied in round 2 and was invited for the interview (interview happened on 8th March). The email already mentions that the final notification date is April 6, 2023. Any R1 applicants who got the final decision before the notification date?

Adcoms don’t give personalized feedback - you have to keep conversing with them and analyzing your own profile - once you point out a weakness - such as in my case the GMAT then they’ll say yes - I asked for mbamath and they specifically told me to "NOT EMPHASIZE ON MBAMATH " as GMAT improvement will be more helpful(yes those were the exact words)

Understood what you meant. Thanks for sharing that!

during interview adcom told me it was rolling. I interviewed late Feb. I’m hoping those that weren’t notified yet get decisions on 4/6

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone here knows if most admitted students should have heard back by now? I was interviewed on 3/10 and haven’t heard back yet. Trying to gauge if I should expect a waitlist/ding at this point haha.

I had an interview on 15th. The adcom told me that all the decisions are sent out on April 6, so I believe we just have to wait tbh.

I’m still a bit nervous because some people receive decisions prior to the date, but anyway we should just patiently wait, and this is the best thing we can do.

1. Tell me about myself - shortly in 1-2 mins!
2. Tell me about a time when you had to manage a resource constraint
3. pros cons of being on multidisciplinary campus
4. Advice to a friend if they open a coffee shop
5. What it takes to make a great team?
6. Long term goals
7. Tell me about a time you convinced people to solve a problem your way.
8. Any questions?

Interview was wrapped up pretty quickly in 15-20 minutes and result will be out on 15th Feb, 2023

a question for waitlisted candidates and candidates who managed to escape and waitlist and secure an admit: after a waitlist action-plan has been sent to Cornell and acknowledged by them, how can we continue to show our interest in case we don’t have any foreseeable profile updates?

send an email to Benjamin only and only if you have a substantial update. Don’t overburden them with regular updates. Substantial updates mean promotion, improved GMAT score, completion of major certifications that was listed in their application portal while filling up the application (such as CFA, FRM, etc).

well Ben told me that I am on the right track and that there are no more points to be added. But he had stressed upon the fact that only active students will be considered, so I wanted to know what else can be done to bee deemed active by Ben/Waitlist team

continue to attend virtual events from cornell and network with others!

Big tip, schools (in particular cornell-i have two MBA grads in the fam), really lovd their crm and alumni. Alumni are able to submit/report students during a survey they can submit online. if you make an impression, people can ’report’you . sorry it’s v early and I’m half asleep, but hope that makes sense

Where do I list awards in the application?

If I list them under activities affiliations and certifications head, do they qualify as post college affiliations?

I know they are not affiliations as such, but where have you guys listed them (besides in the resume)?

Congrats on the admit. First figure out if Cornell offers scholarships based on merit or need or both. Your merit is confirmed through the admit. Stay humble, straight and explain why you need a higher scholarship. Do not come across as arm-twisting.
