Hi Personal MBA team,

Initially, huge thanks for coming forward to review our profiles!

Background:

Country: India
Gender: Male
Course: MBA
Potential Admit: Fall 2024
Work Experience: 5 years by Fall 2024
Undergraduate: Bachelor of Technology (Engineering) in SRM University, Chennai, India
Undergraduate score: 80.96%
Expected GRE score: 160V 166Q-168Q (326-328 in total)

Work experience history:

1. Joined as an intern in an Edtech startup that focussed on imparting Entrepreneurship skills to children (company size: 1-25 employees). Since it was a very small company, I had to dip my hands into any and every possible tasks - Pitching about the company to investors to universities and schools, creating basic Entrepreneurship curriculum for school children, and also tutoring them the same. Duration: 6 months.

2. Joined as a Business Analyst in a Consulting firm in India (company size: 250-500 employees). Worked in calibrating the SalesForce team of Fortune 100 Pharmaceutical Companies. Major clientele I worked with: AstraZeneca, Amgen. Quit the company in a very brief period as I realized consulting wasn't my cup of tea back then. Duration: 3 months.

3. Joined as a Travel Consultant (Business Development) in a Travel Tech startup based out of India (company size: 100-250 employees). Was one of the most successful consultants ever in the history of company, and was instrumental in opening up a lot of markets for the company. Managed a team of 3 people. Won a couple of awards for being the best performer. Handled high-profile individuals as my clients, including sportspersons, Influencers and cinema stars of India. Duration: 14 months.

4. Joined as an Account Manager in a large MNC SaaS company headquartered in the USA, also an IPO listed company (company size: 5,000-10,000 employees). I managed SMB and Midmarket accounts predominantly based out of US and Europe. Handled over 450+ accounts in my capacity, with a book value of over $125,000 MRR. Was instrumental in setting up the protocols and cadences on reaching out to potential digital customers for my team. Team size was close to 150, and I was in the top 5%ile of performers. Overall achievement over 100% throughout my stint at this company. Managed a team of 4 people. Won an award for being the Rising Star of the team. Major clients: Ryan Air Alaska, Joe Biden's Helpdesk, Utah State Board of Education, Aioi Nissay Dowa, Tubi TV, Factor Law, etc. Duration: 18 months

5. Current: Joined as a Customer Success Manager (CSM) in a midsized MNC SaaS company headquartered in the USA (company size: 1000-2000 employees). I am now handling Enterprise companies as my customers, with my customers present all over the globe, right from USA to Australia. I am the youngest CSM in my entire org to handle Enterprise customers. Joined this company just 4 months back, and this is the company I am currently working at, and will hopefully continue until Fall 2024. So I will be able to add more of my credentials about this in some more time.

Extra/Co-Curriculars:

1. Winner of National Level Essay Writing competition in India while I was in my grade 11
2. Active sportsperson - have professionally played cricket and represented my district in inter-state/inter-district tournaments.
3. Completed 4 marathons - 5 km, 12 km, 12 km, 21 km.
4. Volunteered as a teacher to teach Math, Science, and English for underprivileged kids for 1 year (2016-2017)

Profile strengths (in my opinion): 3.5x salary hike in 3 years, worked in Education, Consulting, Travel and Hospitality, and SaaS. Worked in companies ranging from very small startups with less than 25 employees, to midsized companies, to enterprise sized IPO listed companies. Clientele wide ranged from sportspersons to celebrities to influencers to CXOs of SMBs-MMs-Enterprises across the globe. Managed to grow significantly in position with every job shift.

Expected colleges: The key part for me is affordability. I come from a very mediocre financial background, and even getting a loan for an exorbitant sum of money might be difficult for me. I am looking at a tuition fee of something between 60k-70k USD. So scholarship is of paramount importance to me. Open to both 1-year and 2-years MBA.

Australia: Melbourne Business School
Singapore: NUS
Europe: INSEAD, HEC Paris
UK: LBS, Imperial, Said, Judge
US: Tuition fee is beyond my reach as its 2-years. Georgia Tech, Simon BS, Indiana Kelley, Foster BS, etc seem within my reach provided I get about 50% scholarship.
Canada: Rotman

1. How is the overall strength of my profile? I have some time before I apply for R1 and R2 for 2024 admit. Where should I enhance my profile?
2. Like I mentioned, scholarship is important for my profile to fit my budget. Which colleges do I stand a realistic chance of scholarship to make it easy for me to afford?
3. Can I aspire for colleges higher in ranking than my above given list and also stand a chance for scholarship?

I thank you so much for your time in evaluating this profile. Looking forward to working with you!

Hello shriniv7

Thank you for submitting your profile details, and apologies for the delay! Overall it is good that you have had increasing levels of responsibility. It is a double edged sword because your resume also jumps around more than ideal so we don't have as much consistency. I recommend not making any more job moves at this point.

Regarding schools, I think INSEAD and LBS would be reaches. We want to increase the GRE score to be competitive there. MBS, NUS, Imperial are good schools in range for you.

In the US, the schools you listed would be possible with 50% scholarship so that feels directionally correct. That said I recommend trying to get the highest test score in order to land that. In the US you could throw in a couple higher ranked schools perhaps in the T20-25 to see if it works and what scholarships you get.

Best of luck and reach out if you want help with your apps!
