Piyush700:

You have the pillars of a strong foundation for getting admitted to ISB. It would be helpful to learn more about your experience - both extracurricular and professional - but you don't necessarily need to share here. The depth of your achievements needs to be showcased in your CV/resume and essays (and LORs.) That's where you will find the greatest opportunity to differentiate yourself the competition. Coming from politics is going to be an especially interesting angle.

Your scores (GPA and GMAT) are solid, so no need to worry there!

Good luck,

Piyush700 hope this finds you well. For starters, you have an interesting and differentiated background. Since you specifically stated that you "managed" certain aspects of the elections, I am hoping you would have a plethora of interesting examples of your work among the masses to demonstrate the impact of your work in respective areas. I would be interested to know what your goals are to be able to guide you on how you could pitch your prior experience.
The ECs are somewhat scanty, but think if some community work you may have done in the periphery of managing elections can help you fill the gaps.

Feel free to reach out should you need professional guidance.

Best wishes

Your political career provides high diversity= Strong Plus
I don't see your career goals though, and it is very important to have clarity about that
Finally, there is also a blank on your ECs, though I believe you would be strong on that count.
With your score, you could also aim for top-15 schools worldwide, in Europe, US and Canada

Is there a specific reason for your choice of program?

Feel free to connect for a free one to one session to discuss your profile, and ask any questions directly.

Hello Piyush700

Very interesting work profile and extracurriculars. ISB will see you as a candidate who brings in good diversity inside and outside the classroom (you will of course have to convey this well in the essays). GMAT and past scores are competitive too.
However, the biggest question (and the key decision maker) in your specific case is what are your post MBA goals? Why leave the current career trajectory and what is the short-term/long-term vision of your career and why does it need an MBA?
Without Clear and Realistic answers to these questions, it will be tough.

You may want to read here to add to your research on career goals.

Hey Piyush700,

A 720 GMAT score is considered decent and opens up opportunities to apply to top Tier 1 institutions. While the GMAT is one of the factors that colleges consider, your academic background, work experience, extracurricular activities, and impact are also evaluated during the application process.

In order to make your application stand out, you can highlight your unique experiences, such as working in a political consultancy and having close interactions with leaders. Furthermore, highlighting the strategies you implemented for political parties that have been recognized by leaders can help to raise your profile.

To maximize your chances, you can consider applying to colleges outside India, such as SP German, or abroad, where you might have a higher chance of getting admitted and receiving a scholarship.

You can use this method for evaluation profile: Thank you for considering my profile for your next project! I am a recent graduate of the University Of Utah with degrees in Political Science and International Relations. While at UofU, I interned in the Office of Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and played midfield on the school's soccer team. My areas of expertise include foreign policy analysis, trade negotiations, political history and congressional politics.
I believe that my skills as a political analyst would be invaluable to your firm or organization - whether it is helping you draft legislation or providing consulting services on international relations.
