Should I send my Gmat score? 570 (Q49, V22) : Ask mbaMission

Jan 28, 2022

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if I should attach my GMAT score, which is 570 (Q49, V22) into my application, as it is not required to have a GMAT to get into my school, but it is a good addition for your application if you have a high GMAT (over 600), it is literally written like this in the application form. So I was thinking is 570 a good score in this case, as it is quite close to 600, but it is still lower, and I can just say that I did not do GMAT and apply without it. I am not a native English speaker, that is why my verbal part is so bad, but I did quant pretty good, which I guess is more difficult. A also have an IELTS certificate, which shows that my English is not that bad, I got 7.5, or does it not matter for the admission committee? So I would appreciate if anyone shared an advice in this situation, as I have no idea myself what to do.

In your case the best judge would be the adcom , you should address the subject issue with adcom and see what their feedback is...

Hi, diask, you don't say what school this is for, and you have quite a long list in your profile...but since it sounds like they suggest submitting it if your score is above 600, and your score isn't, I probably would NOT submit your score as it does not meet the guideline. However, I agree that you could ask the school what they think. Generally speaking though, it kind of depends on what the school is and what their published average is. My guess is that it's probably around that, a 600. Submitting a score LOWER than that would bring DOWN their average, and therefore hurt them. A 600 or above would help them. So why hurt them if you don't have to? I'd probably focus on strengthening the rest of the application and keeping your score to yourself. Feel free though to call them and ask their thoughts!

Warmly,

Thanks for sharing your question, your 570 is a challenging score, so I would like to say, you didn’t mention that basically for which school you are looking for, and here I would like to give you the suggestion 570 is too low, their average score is more than 600 and GMAT score is a key factor for the admission and as you have mentioned that you sufficient scored IELTS so you can retake the exam and improve your verbal part, you can easily improve your score at the same time you have series of things to concentrated to build your story.
