Hi - Are you saying you already applied to the programs notes, and you want an assessment of your chances there? I don't really see the value in that. If, on the other hand, you are aiming to apply this season (2022 to matriculate in 2023), let's do a free consult.

If doing a free consult via skype/phone interests you, please fill out our FREE CONSULT form https://squareoneprep.com/free-consultation/.

I look forward to hearing from and speaking with you soon. Thanks again for reaching out.

Hi Team,

I would be grateful if you could evaluate my profile (as below) and help address my query.

Profile
1. GMAT Score -710 (Q49, V38)
2. Under graduation- B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal University (GPA-8.7/10) (Batch of 2016)
3. Work Experience- 6 years (3 with KPMG India and 3 years of international work experience with Ernst and Young, Singapore)- Working in the technology risk consulting domain, where i advise clients to reduce IT risks in their operations. Have got promoted year on year in both my companies.

Post MBA career goals- Switch to strategy consulting from technology risk consulting, wherein i help firms with cost reduction, process enhancements through business process redesign.

4. Extra curriculars-
Founded NGO in India- where we help slum dwellers (Run drug awareness campaigns, employment drives for women in slums, and help enroll slum children in government schools)

College Tennis team captain.

Query
1. I have received an admit from Rotman in Canada. I wanted to understand with my profile is it the best option currently or could i try for other schools (Insead/ US schools) next year with my profile. I got a ding from LBS (the other school i applied to). A few key considerations are:
a. Good network and quality of education
b. Ability to move to a strategy consulting firm
c. ability to settle abroad and hopefully get my mother to live with me in the long term.

Thanks so much with your help.

Warm Regards,
Rohan

Thanks for reaching out for a free evaluation. In lieu of writing a lengthy reply, I'd rather we talk - yes, actually talk - so you can ask me questions as I give you an assessment. Additionally, I will be able to offer you a much more robust assessment if I am able to ask you more questions. If doing a free consult via skype/phone interests you, please fill out our FREE CONSULT form https://squareoneprep.com/free-consultation/.

I look forward to hearing from and speaking with you soon. Thanks again for reaching out.

Hi rohan1093 ,

Congratulations on securing Rotman admit.

In my understanding here's how you stand on the key aspects INSEAD evaluates the applicants on

1. Academic inclination: Decent acads and GMAT score but nothing exceptional. Any reference to receiving academic accolades and scholarships previously would be nice.

2. International motivation : This aspect evaluates applicants on their ability to get along in multicultural environments. 3 years of international experience in Singapore is a great add on to your profile. However, bringing out some interesting insights from work relationships you have managed abroad among a diverse set of stakeholders can make your application stand out.

3. Ability to contribute: This aspect is based on INSEAD’s extremely outgoing culture and interactive environment. Introspect deeply on how would you be able to make valuable contributions to class discussions. What unique experience would you bring to the cohort as an Indian applicant with your background. Show your uniqueness. Talk about your interests , hobbies, passion for community service or diversity initiatives. INSEAD loves to have great storytellers aboard.

4. Leadership Potential: This relates to your work experience and professional progression over the years. This is the area where most applicants struggle to portray a promising growth trajectory and get noticed. This would be my main area of concern in your case too. Think how as an IT technology consultant, you have been exceptional in your professional journey. As you belong to an over represented pool, getting this aspect on point is the most important aspect of your application.

Goals: Be conscientious about your goals and thoroughly research career opportunities abroad post MBA. Show that you have made the effort to connect with people from your target industry/geography and are convinced that you would be able to leverage INSEAD experience to attain your goals. Well begun is half done.

I could help you with a ding analysis on LBS application to understand if you would stand a fair chance at INSEAD with an improved application or not.
