I would say focus on the meaning aspect and clear construction. No need to focus heavily on grammar. Think what is the intension.

GMAT score doesn’t matter much if you can show what you add to the class.

I’d say it is a function of your motivation. You have enough time to build your profile that compensates for lower acads. ISB MBA can be pursued in a few years time also. Maybe therein lies your strategy - for now, focus on CAT. If it doesn’t work out, then build a plan to improve your profile and aim for ISB in say 2-3 years.

Again depends on how many years are you giving yourself. If it is a few years, then you could consider picking up from many choices - music, writing, sports, blogging, YT channel, sincere volunteering. The key is to strengthen your strengths rather than trying to tick many boxes. You are welcome to DM for any further discussions on this.

If you are yet to start prep for GMAT and want to target Round 1, then best to defer your target to 2025 admit because you don’t have time to catch R1 in Sep’23. If, however, you aim to catch Round 2 (Jan’24) for Sep’24 start, then you should be okay. Plan to get your desired scores in hand by Sep’23 so that you get clear 3 months runway for your applications prep.

Sentence 2 is correct. In Sentence 1, "child in a miniature coconut shell" says that child was is coconut shell not the sundae.

of course!
a. try to pinpoint any part of your application that may be of concern to the committee, you can address it in an update letter.
b. Address it
c. improve it
examples for things you can address or do:
- Improve GMAT/GRE or TOEFL/IELTS scores
- upgrade your exposure to quantitative coursework or tasks
- Address your communication skills
- another year - more career experience (if that was a concern)
- and - work on your fit and commitment to this specific program

chances sound high (with a stellar application!)
GPA sounds a bit low, but the rest sound very good! WE sounds good!, GMAT is above average and career goals (although a little vague) seem reasonable
All in all good chances (for a detailed chances assessment and perhaps joint work on your apps - send me your CV to shimriw@ARINGO.com )

Let me get this chat going and ask a question (and answer it )

The question is, should I rush and apply in R1 or wait and apply in R2?

In theory, R1 is always better. The chances might be slightly higher for both acceptance and scholarships and even if they were the same, you want to know the answers by November, in case you need to apply to some backup options as well.

BUT, as the chances are kind of the same, R2, with a better application (CV, essays, recommendation etc.) or 20+ points in the GMAT ALWAYS beats R1.

So my suggestion is - only apply when you are ready!

Hi,
WELL...
As you GPA is great. your work experience is fantastic, and if you score a 750 that would be amazing :)
you can get into any business school in the world.
What would I do?
1. complete and maximize your score in the GMAT
2. if you score 740+ choose 2-3 M7 shcools (Chicago, Kellogg, Wharton sound like good fits to me)
3. in any case choose 2-3 safer shcools (Cornell, Darden, Tuck, Duke for example)
4. talk to me (I am always on shimriw@ARINGO.com) for further advise on create amazing applications

Let’s play a little thinking game - can you guess which one of these is actually true?
1.You can’t get into an M7 MBA program without a 750 GMAT
2.If you are older than 30 you can’t get into a top MBA program
3.If you are looking for a high post-MBA salary you have to go to Harvard
4.The GMAT is 90% of the application
5.If I don’t volunteer I won’t get into Yale
6.INSEAD requires international work experience
7.Shimri from ARINGO drinks 4 cups of coffee a day

Hi, you have a very interesting profile
But you are too young to apply "in the regular route" for M7 programs.
options
1. if you are still a student, you can apply to deferred MBAs - (like HBS 2+2) you can read more about deferred programs here: https://aringo.com/deferred-enrollment- ... xperience/
2. you can apply to other programs - https://aringo.com/masters-programs/ (I dont think you want this, but just mentioning)
3. you can wait 2 more years and apply with a FANTASTIC chance

GOOD LUCK!

I think you can get more resources for current edition of GMAT but maybe less resources for GMAT Focus edition of there is some change in question Types but it depends on one’s preference.. some may have less time to prepare for current edition.. also sentence correction and Geometry may be difficult to master for someone.. also GMAT Focus edition may help someone to get better percentile with lesser score . This is my opinion.. GMAT experts may put more light on this

You may decide depending on your application cycle. If you need to apply in R1 current GMAT is the only option. For R2 onwards you may decide depending on what you feel regarding SC and Geometry. If you struggle you may opt for the newer version.

Question: p > q

The question wants us to find whether p lies to the right of q on a number line.

Statement 1

The difference between p and q is a positive number. Hence, we can conclude that the value of p is greater than the value of q. Therefore p lies to the right of q on a number line. The statement is sufficient. We can eliminate B, C, and E.

Statement 2

We can infer that the square of p (i.e. p^2) lies to the right of the square of q (i.e. q^2), however, we cannot comment on the relative position of p and q on the basis of this information alone.

For example:
p = 4, q = 0 => p lies to the right of q on a number line
p = -4, q = 0 => p lies to the left of q on a number line

Hence, statement 2 alone is not sufficient.

In the rectangular coordinate system shown above, does the line k (not shown) intersect quadrant II ?

(1) The slope of k is negative one sixth.

(2) The y-intercept of k is -6.

Why is answer choice A (Just statement 1) correct here. In my understanding we can just answer that question if we also no the y intersect.

The question has been discussed here - https://gmatclub.com/forum/in-the-recta ... 90635.html

I’m looking for an explanation for this one:

If n and t are positive integers, what is the greatest prime factor of the product nt ?

(1) The greatest common factor of n and t is 5.

(2) The least common multiple of n and t is 105.
